DVD Writer will not recognise blank disc in drive. Marvell 91xx SATA 6G controller not listed in Device Manager.

Select drive in explorer caused drive to open, requesting insert disc. When closed an attempt to read seems to be made but stops.

Drive can read and play CD and DVD files. Problem appears to stem from installation of Windows 10.

Initially Marvell 91xx SATA 6G Controller properties stated: 'This device cannot start (Code 10). An I/O adapter hardware error has occurred.'

Latest driver is installed, roll back not available.

Troubleshooter unable to fix.

Events log shows device deleted/configured/not started on 13/08/16, 17/08/16, 2/09/16.

All attempts to repair unsuccessful.

Noted neither drive nor controller are listed on Windows 10 compatibility list.

Also noted: Application failures occurring on a daily basis since 20/08/16, including a windows shutdown unexpectedly on 1/09/16. Windows 10 first installed on 13/08/16. An update on 20/08/16 & cumulative update on 24/08/16.

Driver installed was 1.2.0.1248. confirmed by windows as correct. Noted 1.2.0.1047 recommended by others.

Marvell 92xx Sata 6g Controller Driver

Uninstalled and removed driver. But this deleted the Marvell 91xx SATA 6G controller from device manager. Restoration of backup driver from Drivermax did not restore Marvell driver to the listing or drive function.

Run Windows diagnostic hardware trouble shooter found 2 issues which were fixed.

After reboot still no Marvell controller in device manager and only 1 MS storage controller where there previously were 2.

Have no W10 install disc but will try W10 repair disc and then if that fails reinstall W10Upgrade28084 first installed 13Aug.
